A Place to Love
Many people want a place to love and to feel loved. We do too.
Here are three loves we think are worth investing in:
1. Love for God
Love for God begins in the heart, with a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Mark 12:30 says, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” When we come together as a church and participate in Christ-honoring worship services and respond to the preaching of God’s Word, this provides us the opportunity to demonstrate our love for God. This is love worth investing in.
2. Love for Family
Next to our love for God, our love for family is very important. Many people have a biological family that is very close. Others do not. No matter what condition your biological family may be in, there is a family that everyone can be a part of. This is the family of God. When people come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Galatians 3:26 calls them “children of God.” These children unite together as a local body of believers, God’s family. Our sincere desire here at Cornerstone Baptist Church is to help each believer grow in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, the Head of the family, while building encouraging relationships with other members of their spiritual family. We love families and support families as we grow together in our church family. This is love worth investing in.
3. Love for Community
We all belong to some type of community: whether it is our local community where we live and shop, an employment community where we work, or a social community where we hang out. As our love for God grows and as our love for family grows, we begin to look outward and our love for community grows. Romans 10:13 says “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” This is the greatest news to all mankind. As a family with a love for God, telling our community about Jesus Christ comes from our confidence that He is our peace, complete satisfaction, and our Blessed Hope. As a church, our mission is to reach our local and international communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to utilize every available biblical means, and we want to disciple and train every family member to participate in accomplishing our church’s purpose. Our love for community is truly demonstrated when we present them with this good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is love worth investing in.
